Job DescriptionYour New RoleAs the Regional Financial Controller for Leidos Australia, you will provide leadership and oversight of a large, highly functioning team in Australia, as well as across Asia. This is a high visibility role and fundamental within the finance leadership team, the key to its success would be your people leadership skills and strong technical experience within a complex multinational environment.Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Leidos Chief Accounting Officer in the US, you will have the responsibility for ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of all financial transactions and managing all statutory reporting obligations for the US and APAC Regions. This role is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to demonstrate their ability to lead and mentor team members, enhancing the team’s careers for the future.QualificationsAbout You and What You’ll BringYou will excel in challenging processes, coaching others in the nuances of accounting, and adding value within a complex environment. As an accomplished Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the following areas:
  • Leading a large high-performing team of accounting tax and shared services
  • In-depth knowledge of financial accounting, statutory accounting, audit, and tax requirements
  • Timely completion of all statutory and parent-company reporting requirements
  • Implementation of accounting policies and SOX controls
  • Partnering with the Australian business on accounting and taxation matters including internal and external financial and tax audit advice and coordination.
  • Coordination of audits
  • Focus on ongoing improvements and efficiencies.
Your relationship skills will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of outcomes for both your immediate team and the project finance teams. You will excel in the art of time management, people management, and relationship development. With this, you will easily pivot between the big picture and the finer details. Self-driven in execution and commercial outcomes, you excel in partnering with the business and providing a quality service to the organisation.You will also have:
  • Relevant qualifications plus a CA/CPA. MBA would be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated track record in a similar role within a large multinational organization leading large teams
  • 15 + years of relevant experience within industry or a mix of accountancy firm plus industry experience
  • Strong experience with People Management and Leadership skills with the ability to support geographically dispersed stakeholders
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • An enthusiasm for change and working in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to influence peers and management and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders in US and APAC
  • A curious nature that will challenge current thinking and processes to enhance business/ team performance
