Your new company
Our client is a Public Sector Authority based in Brisbane CBD who focus on helping councils and cities become more disaster resilient. They deliver value for money public reconstruction programs and help coordinate rapid recovery of disaster impacted communities. They are looking for a Regional Liaison Officer to join the operation division in overseeing successful delivery of state and Commonwealth Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) and resilience funded projects by State and Local Government agencies.
Your new role
In your new role you will be providing effective issue identification (progress, delivery, cost and risk), management and solutions whilst also representing your team at Local, Regional or state disaster management groups. You will also be responsible for monitoring the progress of submission development as well as undertaking assessment submission and submission conformance assessing eligibility, scope and accuracy of cost estimates. You will also be responsible for the following:
- Undertake on-the ground site inspections and program reviews
- Provide technical and project management advice to delivery agents
- Facilitate constructive and collaborative resolutions surrounding program delivery
- Develop collaborative and productive relationships with colleagues, delivery agents (project managers through to CEO’s, including Local Councillors and Mayors (as appropriate)), delivery partners and industry as required to facilitate the successful delivery of programs.
- Undertake regular on-the-ground site inspections and program reviews.
- Provide support and training to delivery agents to promote understanding of the Management and Reporting System (MARS).
- Travel within Queensland on occasion to meet stakeholders
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed you will be an experienced technical engineering and project management professional with customer facing/client experience delivering projects to local stakeholders including, mayors, council workers and general public. You will demonstrate the ability to build enduring relationships to provide a customer-focused approach and outcomes. Ideally you will also demonstrate the ability to practice governance and risk management.
You will also ideally have the following:
- Possession of a degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent Civil Engineering qualification, which is accepted by the Institution of Engineers Australia as a full Member (MIEAust).
- Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
- Project management qualifications.
- Experience in the application of engineering planning and design principles and methodologies as they apply to planning, design, construction, maintenance and rehabilitation projects.
What you'll get in return
This role provides you the opportunity to travel to local and regional councils in delivery important disaster recovery and reconstruction programs. This role combines technical and customer facing aspects to create a diverse opportunity for development. It is a contract opportunity initially for 6 months with potential to extend for 18 months, potentially more. This role provide flexibility on daily rates, however, suggests between $700-850 per day plus super.
