Your new role

As the Regional Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for driving a range of defined work packages of capital delivery investment projects and programs that will continue to provide essential water infrastructure to South Australian communities. The Regional Portfolio oversees project teams located across South Australia with $70m of construction projects per year to be delivered. You will achieve this through authentic leadership and empowering your established team of project managers to not only meet but exceed customer outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include.

  • Providing direction to a team of professionals through collaborative leadership to deliver a program of capital projects within the portfolio
  • Meeting all capital delivery performance measures and working with the team to improve these
  • Accurate forecasting of project deliverables to ensure time, quality and cost are all achieved.
  • The curation of a tight-knit, high-performing team that is led through clear communication, support and empowerment
  • Managing resource allocation and delivering multiple projects to tight deadlines on a self-performing arrangement.
  • Managing competing prioritises on a large portfolio through informed decision making with all risk matrices appropriately considered.
  • Continual focus on safety by ensuring a positive safety culture that is met through leading by example.

This is a key leadership role within the SA Water Sustainable Infrastructure division with the purpose of ensuring quality infrastructure is delivered to the communities it supports at every step of the process. This requires a skilled people leader that can facilitate greater efficiency and certainty in delivery now and into the future. Whilst this role is based at the Head Office in the CBD, SA Water operations cover the state and will require some regional travel throughout South Australia on a fairly regular basis.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Extensive experience in complex program management, ideally within an infrastructure construction environment.
  • A track record of tackling a demanding workload with solutions focus on outcomes through best-in-practice methodologies.
  • Proven experience of leading teams of high performers and empowering them to deliver capital projects with competing priorities while ensuring their continual growth and support.
  • Experience in driving multiple programs of key infrastructure projects through the full construction lifecycle to deliver into operation to the highest quality and standards.
  • Experience in resource planning and management including planning toward future work programs through clear and concise stakeholder management and exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Formal qualifications in Project Management, Engineering or other relevant Qualifications / experience
