The Opportunity

We are seeking an employee who is passionate about volunteer training and assessment. You will deliver training and assessment for St John endorsed courses to a range of volunteers within the Perth Metropolitan area (including Country and Event Health Volunteers), to develop confident and competent operational volunteers who can volunteer across the state of Western Australia.

This role is a fixed-term 12-month, full-time position with possibility of extension. The successful applicant will be available to work 37.5 hours per week, including weekends and some evening work (flexibility is required to meet training demands and requirements).

Key outcomes for a Regional Training Facilitator:

  • Assist the Regional Training and Development Coordinator (RTDC) to plan and coordinate efficient and effective delivery of training and development to volunteers and paid clinical staff (Transport Officers) within the new Metro Volunteer Hub concept
  • Complete course reports as required to measure effectiveness of the training activity and outcomes
  • Assist with the maintenance of training equipment
  • To deliver training and assessment to volunteers and paid clinical staff (Transport Officers) within the new Metro Volunteer Hub to required quality standards
  • Deliver training to allow volunteers and Country Transport Officers in the new Metro Volunteer hub to attain and maintain an adequate level of skills to enable them to perform their designated scope of practice
  • Deliver training that is consistent and accurate using approved training packages designed by the Clinical Education Department

The successful applicant must have the following qualifications and aptitudes:

  • Clinical knowledge to at least Provide First Aid level - desirable
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent education experience - desirable
  • Experience working with volunteers and or volunteer organisations
  • Flexibility in relation to days worked to meet training requirements
  • Existing volunteer with St John WA - desirable
