Salary range (casual rate):
Enrolled Nurse - Currently $44.05/hour (1st year) to $51.06/hour (7th year), increasing in July 2024 to $45.37/hour (1st year) to $52.59/hour (7th year)
Registered Nurse - Currently $51.16/hour (1st year) to $65.62/hour (7th year), increasing in July 2024 to $52.70/hour (1st year) to $67.60/hour (7th year)

St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital (SATH) has exciting opportunities for enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses to join our Casual Team, caring for patients across our Medical, Surgical, Mental Health, Cardiac Medical Unit, and Intensive Care Unit.

Role Accountabilities:
- Comprehensive Patient Care: Provide compassionate and evidence-based nursing care to patients, promoting both physical and emotional well-being. As a member of the multidisciplinary team use critical assessments skills to ensure the delivery of comprehensive patient centred care.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Work seamlessly with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes and participate actively in rounds, contributing valuable insights and fostering open communication among team members.
- Communication: foster effective communication within the healthcare team, ensuring that relevant information is shared in a timely manner and communicate with patients and families with empathy and professionalism.
- Patient and Family Education: Empower patients and their families through clear and accessible education about their medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care and offer guidance on self-care practices and assist in navigating the healthcare journey.
- Exceptional Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to rigorous documentation standards and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements, contributing to the delivery of high-quality and safe patient care.
- High level of clinical competence in an acute setting
- Well-developed communication skills to convey complex medical information in a clear and understandable manner with an ability to negotiate and influence
- Excellent team building skills and capabilities
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise workload demands
- Effective problem-solving skills and an ability to make timely and informed decisions in high-pressure situations
- Ability to effectively work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
- A minimum of 1 year post graduate experience in medical-surgical nursing
- Demonstrated understanding of evidence-based practice and critical thinking
- Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) or Diploma of Nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Available to work morning, afternoon, and night shifts in a 24/7 period (rotating roster).
- Engagement is subject to the applicant fully satisfying the mandatory COVID-19 vaccination requirements and evidence must be produced as part of the recruitment process.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) skills
