The Location

You will be living in a fantastic Town in WA right on the coast with approximately 3,500 people. All of the Nurses and Midwives who work there comment on how friendly the people are and how social the town is! This town is ideally located only a two hour drive from the stunning Broome coastline too! The perfect getaway for your time off.

Your Main Duties

As a Registered Midwife, you will be providing care and support to women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. Your main duties will span across prenatal care, labour and delivery, post-partum care, health promotion and education, and working in close collaboration with other healthcare professionals, such as obstetricians, paediatricians, and nurses.

Perks of Regional/Rural Living

Living in a regional or rural area offers several benefits. These areas tend to have less noise, traffic, and pollution compared to urban areas. This can provide a peaceful and serene living environment, allowing you to escape the hustle and bustle of city living and enjoy a slower pace. You will be living in a town which fosters a strong sense of community, with a supportive network of neighbours and friends. With smaller populations, people tend to know and support each other more closely. This contributes to stronger social connections and a greater sense of belonging. Surrounded by open spaces, greenery, and natural landscapes, individuals have easier access to outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, fishing, or simply enjoying the beauty of the environment. This connection to nature can enhance well-being and provide opportunities for relaxation and recreation.

To be eligible for this position, you must have the following:

  • A minimum of 12 months' midwifery experience
  • Labour ward competent
  • Current AHPRA registration as an RM, with no restrictions
  • Dual RN/RM registration is a plus but not essential
