Form of workThe Casino Food Co-op is a leading export food processor with production facilities at Casino and Booyong, near Lismore, in the Northern Rivers area of the NSW Far North Coast.
The Co-op has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our WHS team as part of the wider Human Resources department. The role will report to the WHS Manager and is predominantly responsible for maintaining staff health and wellbeing in this occupational setting.
The main duties and responsibilities of this role will include:
- Respond to all first aid incidents on plant.
- Drive injury management and injury prevention, working closely with the WHS team, human resources, department managers and external medical providers.
- Complete and process incident reports, escalating identified issues as required.
- Coordinate and complete pre-employment medical assessments for new employees.
- Complete onsite vaccinations for Flu and Q-Fever.
- Stock management for the first aid office.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications/ skills:
- Nursing qualifications and current AHPRA registration.
- Qualifications in occupational first aid or a willingness to obtain these qualifications.
- Vaccination endorsement or other accreditation to administer vaccinations under the guidance of an onsite doctor.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work autonomously
- Computer literacy and sound understanding of computer programs
Although not essential for the role, the following will be highly regarded:
- Qualifications or experience in injury prevention and injury management.
- Previous experience in a similar role servicing a primarily blue-collar workforce.
Anyone with qualifications in occupational therapy, physiotherapy or exercise physiology with certification to administer vaccinations or a willingness to undertake the required training is encouraged to apply.
