The Brown Nurses is an independent ministry of Our Lady’s Nurses for the Poor. We provide in-home care and support to the most disadvantaged and marginalised in the community. Many of our clients live with debilitating physical and mental illnesses or are at risk of homelessness. Being in the care of the Brown Nurses may be their last chance to live independently.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential Criteria
- Current Nursing Registration (Division 1) with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable people from diverse backgrounds within a strengths based framework to achieve agreed goals and outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Current NSW driver's license (Class C)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in which to communicate with a diverse client group and diverse community stakeholders to ensure advocacy for our clients. This advocacy includes case planning and case coordination.
- Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the mission of serving the sick poor and values of Brown Nurses
- Community Nursing experience
- Mental health, addiction medicine or homeless health experience
