About the Role

The Registered Nurse - Afterhours supervisor will be required to undertake afterhours responsibility across our Sunshine Coast Region. The position is responsible for providing leadership and oversight of the care team during our afterhours times so flexibility to work both afternoon and nights will be required. You will play a pivotal role in providing compassionate and competent care to Arcare Residents while maintaining a supportive and positive work environment for the care team.

Your primary functions will be:

  • Clinical Care: Providing high-quality medical care, including assessing residents' health conditions, monitoring vital signs, and managing medications and treatments.
  • Wound Management: Managing and dressing wounds, preventing infections, and promoting proper wound healing.
  • Health Care Planning: Developing and implementing individualized care plans based on residents' specific needs and medical conditions.
  • Assessment and Documentation: Conducting thorough health assessments, maintaining accurate medical records, and documenting changes in residents' health conditions on eCase.
  • Pain Management: Addressing pain concerns and implementing pain management strategies.
  • Emergency Response: Being prepared to handle medical emergencies and coordinating the response as necessary.
  • End-of-Life Care: Providing comfort and support during end-of-life care, including palliative care.

Skills & Experience

  • Current AHPRA Registration.
  • Ability to travel to multiple locations across the Arcare portfolio on the Sunshine Coast
  • Ability to work afternoon and nights
  • Knowledge of Aged Care accreditation standards
  • Adaptable, passionate and willingness to learn.
  • Collaborative and skilled at teamwork.
  • Friendly and effective communication abilities.
