The Townsville Research Unit at Townsville University Hospital are seeking experienced Registered Nurse to undertake a Clinical Research Coordinator role for the PARIS on Country study.
Please note this is a temporary part-time role, commencing 01/04/2024 - 31/12/2025, with two positions available, each working 19 hours per fortnight.

The opportunity The key objectives of the Clinical Research Coordinator position are to gather high quality Clinical Research data and maintain optimum health care to research participants at the standard of practice, in accordance with the National Health Medical and Research Council, Good Clinical Practice Guidelines and the International Committee of Harmonisation. The incumbent will contribute towards the research efforts of a research team lead by a nominated Principal Investigator, and to develop research expertise through the pursuit of defined projects relevant to a specific defined Townsville Hospital and Health Service Service Group.

Role requirements
- Mandatory: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent is a required qualification for this position.
- Good Clinical Practice Certificate (GCP) (or willingness to acquire once appointed).

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:
- Ability to comprehensively plan, coordinate and deliver the responsibilities associated with health and medical research.
- Knowledge in, or ability to learn about, the management of issues relating to health and medical research and research governance.
- Knowledge of legal and professional responsibilities, including the legislative and regulatory guidelines related to research.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with the multidisciplinary team, patients and other stakeholders, including participation in relevant networks.
- High standard of written and oral communication skills, with the ability to consult and communicate within the multidisciplinary team, and with patients and their families.
- Ability to use or learn to use information systems appropriate to the position.
- Ability to provide clinical education and support and demonstrate own ongoing professional development.
- Ability to demonstrate competency as outlined in the NMBA Registered Nurse Standards for Practice.
- Clinical experience in paediatric intensive care/respiratory area/s desirable although not mandatory.
