About the role
The Medical Day Unit consists of 9 chairs/ beds and provides approximately 250 treatments per month, operating Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm (excluding public holidays).
We specialise in providing an ambulatory care service for the coordination and administration of non-cancer related infusional therapies for neurological, gastrointestinal, endocrine and autoimmune disorders, as well as transplant recipients & people experiencing anaemia.
We support our staff in developing their peripheral venous cannulation and CVAD skills and encourage the pursuit of professional development &/or portfolio opportunities in areas of interest that are relevant to the services we provide.
We are proud to work collaboratively with Melbourne Metropolitan Health Services to ensure local access to treatment for those who are referred.
The Medical Day Unit values teamwork and communication along with exceptional clinical skills, great time management and a commitment to person centred best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- safe administration of all medications in accordance with best practice guidelines and hospital policy.
- IV cannulation (+/- CVAD access) competent.

- Previous experience in safe administration of monoclonal antibodies is highly regarded but not essential.
