Anaesthetic and Recovery Specialist Program
There are multiple positions available in the Specialist Program, these positions are part time and temporary until May 2024.
You will develop the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve an informed level in perioperative nursing practice. You will be given the ability to transfer existing theoretical and clinical knowledge to quality patient care in the Main Operating Suite.
Your choice of working in our Main Operating Theatre OR Gretta Volum and Youang Surgical Centre.
About Our Operating Services
We have 2 main areas where Anaesthetic and Recovery Nurses work at Barwon Health
Main Operating Theatre (Operational 24 Hrs/ day)
Barwon Health provide a 24 hour service to the community across 10 Operating Theatres. We not only provide access for Elective Surgery but also Semi Urgent and Emergency procedures. The specialities include Cardiothoracic, ENT, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Oral Faciomaxillary, Plastics, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Urology, Vascular and Robotic Surgery. You may also be working in Satellite areas that include CathLab, MRI and Medical Imaging
Gretta Volum Centre (GVC) and Youang Surgery Centre (YSC) (Operational Monday-Friday 0700-2000Hrs).
Both YSC and GVC work collaboratively to provide care for patients undergoing Elective surgery at Barwon Health. GVC consists of 2 theatres and 1 endoscopy suite, caring for patients requiring Endoscopy, Pain management, Ophthalmology, ECT, ENT, General Surgery or Urology services. Youang Surgery Centre has 4 theatres and cares for patients requiring Gynaecology, Urology, general surgery, Vascular, ENT services.
