The Opportunity
The primary role of the HITH Registered Nurse is to provide best practice nursing care in the Home for Benalla Health consumers. The Registered Nurse will possess a high level of clinical reasoning and skills in assessment, intervention and care planning to clients admitted to HITH.
The role is a contract role over a 3-month period (0.6 FTE).
Key accountabilities:
- Model a high-level of professional skill and professional competency
- Provision of a high level of clinical reasoning and skills in assessment, intervention and care planning to clients in the community setting
- Provide clinical support and supervision to junior nursing staff and students as required
- Able to manage own time and prioritise competing demands to ensure completion of clinical work
- Initiates and promotes innovative service delivery
- Collaboratively work with other multidisciplinary team members and professionals to identify and achieve client / family centred goals
- Involve clients / carers in the decision making of treatment goals and care plans
- Utilise evidence based models and validated outcome measures as part of routine nursing practice
- Provide education to clients / carers appropriate to their needs
- Identify relevant referrals to other disciplines, services and organisations in a timely manner
