Registered Nurse Midwife


This is for a Permanent or Fixed Term Full Time appointment at 80 hours per fortnight, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

An opportunity exists for talented and enthusiastic Registered Nurse Midwifes to join the Midwifery team at Geraldton Health Campus – Midwest.

  • Ability to identify and utilise effective problem-solving strategies.
  • Understanding of the principles of Governance within the Healthcare sector.

Position Profile:

Cares for women and their families in accordance with the ANMS Competency Standards for Midwives, the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct for Midwives within the ‘continuity of care’ model for Midwifery Group Practice.

The Country Nursing & Midwifery incentive program is available to new and existing nurses and midwives - across a broad range of patient-facing roles - on fixed term or permanent contracts at 76 select locations. Eligible nurses and midwives can receive between $5,000 and $17,000 in support over 12 months (WA Country Health Service - Country Nursing and Midwifery Incentive Program).

Area Profile

The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) Midwest health region of Western Australia covers more than 470,000 square kilometres, nearly one fifth of the State, with its population concentrated along the coast. The region is located in the northern middle section of Western Australia and incorporates three health districts - Gascoyne, Geraldton, Midwest and Murchison, is recognised for its unique natural environment and is a culturally diverse region with Aboriginal people representing 13% of the overall population.
