Formed in 1917, the Queen Elizabeth Centre (QEC) is Victoria's largest provider of residential, community and home-based parenting services, for families with children aged from birth until 4 years of age. QEC’s vision is for children to get the best start in life.
QEC employs a skilled, multidisciplinary workforce who work in a child-centred, strengths based partnership approach, by building genuine and respectful partnerships with parents/carers, in order to work towards achieving improved outcomes for children and their families.
We are keen to hear from Registered nurses, midwives and Maternal Child Health Nurse professionals with a passion for the work we do. As an Early Parenting Practitioner you will provide specialised support, care and education to enhance families' parenting competencies. You will be responsible for improving parents' knowledge, skills and attitudes as well as build the ability of parents to meet their children's health, safety and developmental needs.
To be considered for this role you will possess:
- A relevant qualification in Registered Nurse/ Midwife or higher.
- You will ideally have previous experience working with families in the health/welfare sector or mother and baby unit
- An understanding of child development and the factors that can impede a child's development
