MARS Recruitment are currently looking for a passionate Registered Psychologist to join an injury management & health solutions organisation based in the Wollongong region!

This organisation has been established in Australia since in 1984 and has been delivering Workplace Health, Personal Health and Disability Services throughout NSW!

This multidiscipline organisation approaches therapy with a mission to empower and provide different perspectives, ideas and knowledge that enable their clients to obtain the highest quality of service.

The Wollongong office is seeking a talented and driven Registered Psychologist to join their growing team. This team prides themselves on their supportive, structured best practice delivery framework, ensuring you are fully supported to reach your potential.

The role details:

  • Deliver psychological assessments, mediation, and debriefs to various schemes such as Workers Insurance, Medicare, NDIS, ADF & DVA, EAP and employer direct services
  • Conduct psychological assessments to understand the impact of the injury on an individual's mental health.
  • Diagnose and identify any pre-existing mental health conditions that may be exacerbated by patients circumstances / current injury.
  • Provide immediate psychological support to individuals who may be in crisis due to the sudden life circumstances changes.
  • Teach relaxation techniques, mindfulness, and other psychological interventions to alleviate pain-related / alternative stressors.
  • Help individuals cope with the lifestyle changes and limitations imposed anf facilitate the adjustment process by addressing grief, loss, and adapting to a 'new normal'.
  • Collaborate with medical professionals, physical therapists, and other healthcare providers to develop comprehensive treatment plans that address both physical and psychological aspects of recovery
  • Recommend and provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Educate individuals about the psychological impact of injuries and conditions and how mental health can influence physical recovery.
  • Work in collaboration with patients of varied abilities and presentations, with a focus on positive outcomes.
  • You will work with clients to diagnose and treat mental, emotional, and behavioural disorders.
  • You will deal with external stakeholders inclusive of but not limited to Insurers, Injured Workers and Medical Professionals.

As a Psychologist, you will take the lead in your growth and development with opportunities for learning, coaching and mentoring in the mental health space.

About you:

  • You hold a relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology - Registered with AHPRA.
  • You have demonstrated experience in psychology and are able to confidently provide mental health assessments, support others and implement psychology plans to keep staff safe and reduce any potential risks.
  • You can provide an analytical approach to situations and offer ongoing support during potentially stressful circumstances.
  • You hold a full driver's license
  • You hold a Current Police Clearance and WWCC (or a willingness to obtain)
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
  • You have sound communications skills both written and verbal
  • Full time is preferable however part time will be considered
  • Pain management experience is extremely desirable
  • Working rights in Australia - Visa holders can be considered if registered with relevant Australian professional bodies.
