Job description

The Position

  • Deliver superior medical care to both admitted and non-admitted patients across two facilities.
  • Champion clinical excellence and elevate the quality of care by ensuring effective and efficient patient management. This involves active participation in teaching and unit meetings, as well as conducting outreach clinics in remote communities and regional centers.
  • Take on the role of supervising, teaching, and mentoring Resident Medical Officers and Interns to contribute to their professional growth.


The Facility

This opportunity is across two locations.  The main facility is a medical facility which stands as a Tertiary and level 3 Teaching Hospital, boasting a capacity of nearly 400 beds and employing approximately 1,700 staff members. Catering to a population of 200,000 within a catchment area encompassing urban communities, regional hospitals, and remote Aboriginal communities, the hospital plays a vital role in providing healthcare services. Affiliated with Flinders University, it houses an onsite Medical School, further enhancing its commitment to medical education.


The Location

The Requirements

  • Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Passed Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) written and clinical exam or recognised overseas equivalent.
  • Sound clinical knowledge in assessment and management of patients and a commitment to provide appropriate high quality service.
  • An interest in and a commitment to improving Aboriginal health.
