SalaryWe are currently looking for a competent and personable lawyer with regulatory or administrative law experience to join this legal industry body. This role supports the Head of Licensing and will see the successful candidate advising on licensing legislation and policies, working with regulatory bodies and foreign lawyers regarding legislative queries, responding to enquiries and subpoenas from government and Commonwealth authorities, assisting with queries arising within independent commissions, providing evidence in legal proceedings and advising on certificates of fitness, conducting research and training, briefing external Counsel and assisting with ad hoc project work and initiatives.
The successful candidate will have a current practising certificate and expertise advising on compliance or regulatory matters. The role would best suit a friendly, organised and down to earth person who is able to work well individually as well as within in a team environment. This is a cohesive and supportive in-house environment and getting the right cultural fit of the candidate is essential. The office location is based in the CBD and the hours are family friendly. This 12 month contract role would suit someone keen to work 4 or 5 days/week.
