Join our professional and supportive Rehabilitation team as a Consultant.
As the Consultant, you will work on rotations including the Rehabilitation Wards (stroke, orthopaedic/amputee, VITA), ambulatory services (Virtual Rehabilitation Ward, Home Rehabilitation, Day Rehabilitation Service), and outreach services to country SA rehabilitation units. Consultants are allocated regular outpatient clinic services. The position is also accountable for contributing to the development and implementation of SAHS strategic objectives and South Australia’s Health Care Plan.

About the Role:
As the Consultant, your duties may include:
- providing appropriate specialist level care to patients
- coordinating the follow up care of patients
- providing clinical supervision to Senior Medical Practitioners, Trainee Medical Officers and Medical Students
- contributing to an after-hours on-call service in accordance with a roster agreed by the Department Director
- overseeing the smooth functioning of the clinical area when on shift
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
- Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration (Rehabilitation Medicine); or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award
Experience with the supervision and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff.
Extensive clinical experience relevant to work in Rehabilitation Medicine
