About the Role
The Consultant Rehabilitation Physician (Locum) will provide medical leadership to the Fitzroy and Kew Inpatient teams during the time when the respective Consultants for these teams take Sabbatical Leave, from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025.
Additional periods of time may be available pending leave arrangements of the St Vincent’s Hospital Rehabilitation Medical team. The Consultant will be based at Fitzroy for 6 months and at St George’s Hospital Kew for 6 months.
Duties Include:

• Comprehensive evidence based medical assessment and management of Rehabilitation patients
• Participate in the development of sustainable, Best Practice, evidence-based management processes for Rehabilitation patients.
• Lead the multidisciplinary team in assessment, development of rehabilitation programs, and discharge planning of rehabilitation patients.

Your Contribution

• Specialist registration with the Medical Practitioners Board of Australia / AHPRA
• Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine or equivalent specialist qualification
• Preferred experience
• Experience in Amputee and Spinal Cord syndrome patients
• Experience with home based rehabilitation
• Experience with assessment of patients referred to rehabilitation
• Experience in management of adults with complex disability
• Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

• Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit: Fitzroy Campus 25 beds

• Neurological, Musculoskeletal, Amputee and Spinal Rehabilitation

• Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit: Kew Campus 20 beds

• Neurological and Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation

• Rehab@Home : Kew Campus 20 beds
