Reliable Deck Hands Needed

PJ & AM Morgan currently have multiple positions (3) available for experienced Deckhands on a busy passenger route in the Torres Strait.
Our deckhand positions are based on several medium to large boats ferrying passengers, luggage and freight between Islands in the Torres Strait. Previous experience as a deckhand on a similar route is absolutely necessary along with a good attitude, although superior customer service is paramount. Your role will generally entail; greeting passengers, loading luggage and freight onto/off vehicles, cleaning the vehicles, assisting passengers on and off vehicles, collecting tickets and following instructions from the Capitan.

Requirements

• 12 months of experience, extra/mechanical experience and relevant industry qualifications would be advantageous.
• Must be willing to take a medical.
• Happy to work in a team.
• Happy to do split shifts.
• Transport (not essential but advantageous).
• Must be willing to move.
• Good work ethic!

Benefits

• Full-time work available, including weekends, with a minimum of 38 hours a week. 4 weeks of annual leave and accumulated sick leave (up to 10 days).
• Award rates - Ports, Harbours and Enclosed Water Vessels Award [MA000052] Crew Level 1 $27.64/hr.

The route is mainly based between Thursday and Horn Islands although there may be very infrequent trips to other Torres Strait Island ports.
