AddressHCA Medic Oncall is a leading provider of clinical advisory services, and we are seeking a full time General Practitioner to join our team imbedded with The Department of Home Affairs.
The Department of Home Affairs brings together Australia's federal law enforcement, national and transport security, criminal justice, emergency management, multicultural affairs, settlement services and immigration and border-related functions, working together to keep Australia safe. The Department supports and enables the Australian Border Force (ABF), our nation’s customs service, to protect Australia’s border and facilitate legitimate travel and trade.
Non-Clinical Remote Work
• Remote work with one keeping in touch day per fortnight
• Based in Sydney or ACT
• 37.5 hours per week to be completed during business hours with flexibility
• Salary range $150-$175 per hour
The role
The role includes the provision of clinical advice and support based on best available evidence and current medical practice across the staff health portfolio of the Department of Home Affairs.
This includes:
• Providing expert clinical advice to the Department and Australian Border Force in relation to staff health and wellbeing issues and cases;
• Leading clinical input into the Department and Australian Border Force’s response to managing staff health risks, including environmental factors; and
• Participating in medical review boards and committees
About you
• Australian citizen
• At least five years clinical experience
• Have experience in occupational, return to work, law enforcement health
• Current non conditional AHPRA specialist registration
• High level of professional integrity and respect for privacy of health information
• Knowledge of consent, privacy principles and information sharing processes
• A broad awareness of global public health issues affecting Australia
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills
• Highly developed skills working in a multi-disciplinary team environment
