Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Originate and Transact a Renewable Energy portfolio building mutually beneficial relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve organisational objectives including the delivery of the Future Energy Development Strategy - Renewables which is targeting approximately 3GW of Wind and 3GW of Solar reaching commercial operations by 2035. 
  • Provide subject matter leadership and expert advice relating to the structuring of transactions including Acquisition, Joint Development and Offtake of Renewable energy both within and external to the organisation.
  • Lead the design of commercial frameworks, structures and agreements which deliver on the renewable portfolio renewal requirements, managing the development lifecycle from concept to final investment decision including due diligence and risk management in relation to commercial, legal, financial, technical and environmental aspects of transactions.
  • Lead complex projects with competing priorities, developing a range of project documents, agreements including preparing board, internal and external reporting materials.
  • Lead the negotiations, documentation and execution of agreements with suppliers of key technologies, equipment and/or services during project development and execution phases.
  • Work with all stakeholders to develop trusted customer relationships.
  • Identify, quantify, and seek to minimise commercial risks within project execution to within acceptable limits including mitigating risks for major capital investment decisions.

Our preferred candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Degree level qualifications in a relevant discipline such as economics, business, commerce or law.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in relevant discipline is highly desirable.
    7+ years experience within the energy industry.
  • High level strategic, conceptual and analytical skills with the proven ability to analyse opportunity and bring about commercially viable business opportunities.
  • Demonstrated experience bringing together multiple parties and counterparties to create value chains.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage and engage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead and drive change within a complex environment and operational setting.
  • Experience completing high level business analysis and the ability to convey the analysis to any audience.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with proven business acumen and sound commercial judgement.
  • Outcomes focused, with ability to identify new or evolving opportunities and adapt plans accordingly.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills so as to be able to effectively present ideas and opportunities, gain buy in and have the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong background in negotiating and managing contractual and commercial relationships and achieved successful outcomes over the short, medium and long term.
