Salary Academic A + 17% Superannuation
Based at the Melbourne CBD campus
About the role
As Research Assistant, you will be undertaking research activities on an ARC Discovery Project. You will work with an increasing degree of autonomy as skills and experience develop.
To be successful in this position, you will have:
PhD degree in the field of Geotechnical Engineering or an equivalent area
Evidence of research output including publications, conference contributions and/or technical reports in Computational Mechanics and Geomechanics and/or machine learning and AI
High skills in computer programming languages such as Fortran, C++, or Python
Ability to generate alternative funding projects through effective liaison with industry and government
Ability to work autonomously whilst displaying a strong commitment to work in a team environment, including the demonstrated ability to confidently and effectively work with colleagues, and project team leaders
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage varying workloads and respond to changing priorities as required
Demonstrated high level communication skills
Ability to co-supervise postgraduate by research students
