Job description

  • Conduct laboratory research in immunology and virology, focusing on eliciting broad and protective immunity against viral pathogens

About the Role
The Research role involves contributing to the laboratory's research program on immune responses to viral infection and vaccination. This includes independently planning and executing experiments, maintaining accurate records, conducting qualitative and statistical data analysis, and contributing to lab maintenance.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Independently, and alongside other researchers, plan and carry out experiments accurately
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all experiments conducted
  • Contribute to the laboratory's research program focusing on understanding immune responses to viral infection and vaccination.
  • Assist with administrative duties such as submission of animal ethics and OGTR approvals
Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will not only possess technical proficiency, including the ability to design and analyse experiments involving experimental mice and human samples, but will also demonstrate strong organisational skills, meticulous data recording, and effective teamwork.
You will also have:
  • BSc (Honours) degree or equivalent with a major in Immunology, Microbiology or a related discipline
  • Ability to work with senior researchers and help design, perform and analyse experiments in a timely manner
  • Comfortable with the use of experimental mice in medical research
