Research Associate (Social Sciences)- Renewable Energy Transition
The Opportunity
UNSW is recruiting a Research Associate to join a team of academics, post-doctoral researchers, and post-graduate research students to collaborate closely with industry partners via UNSW’s Collaboration on Energy and Environmental Markets (CEEM). CEEM undertakes interdisciplinary research on energy transition to improve the economic and environmental sustainability of the Australian National Electricity Market, and other electricity industries worldwide. The Research Associate (Level A) will contribute as a social science researcher to an interdisciplinary project, including exploring stakeholder perspectives on motivations, key drivers, enablers and barriers for different renewable energy purchasing options as part of corporate social responsibility and energy procurement strategies.
Research Associate - Level A6*+: The role will report to Associate Professor Anna Bruce and may assist with the supervision of research students and casual research assistants.
- Remuneration: $100,318-$107,299 + 17% super (*holds a relevant doctoral qualification)
- Duration: Part-time, fixed-term contract: 0.4FTE, 1 year
- Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia

Skills & Experience
- A PhD or equivalent research experience in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
- Experience interacting with the profession and industry, in particular electricity consumers and electricity industry businesses in Australia is highly desirable.
- Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake high quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders and students.
