About the PositionThe Infectious Diseases and Immune Defence Division maintains several mosquito colonies in an Arthropod containment facility or Insectary. Insectary research activities include ongoing maintenance of an Anopheles stephensi mosquito colony for malaria.
This position will develop the regulatory and experimental expertise for rearing mosquitoes suitable for controlled human malaria infection clinical trials. The appointee will be involved in establishing the infrastructure and regulatory requirements for this capability. This position is also responsible for overall management, budgetary planning, and service provision, including oversight of routine operations and the provision of training for Insectary users.
In addition to undertaking tasks associated with the care, husbandry, and maintenance of mosquitoes, they may also be required to work with genetically manipulated mice in the facility, or other specialist responsibilities. This position is responsible…
