Centre for Applied Climate Sciences
Australia’s climate experiences high variability and extreme events and UniSQ’s Centre for Applied Climate Sciences (CACS) team is working with the grazing industry to better manage climate risks.
Through the Northern Australia Climate Program, a partnership between the Queensland Government, Meat and Livestock Australia and the University, UniSQ’s Research Fellow (Agricultural Climate Research and Applications) will be required to initiate, develop and conduct research projects into the management of climate variability and climate extremes. Your primary focus will be as an early career researcher, and you will be involved in applying knowledge of climate science to assist in on-property decision making and in collaboration, communication and networking with agricultural partners, State Governments, land managers, and Natural Resource Management Groups.
This is a unique opportunity for someone with a strong knowledge of management of climate variability and extremes, drought resilience and preparedness and agricultural production systems within northern Australia and rangeland agricultural systems.
