- Motivate, empower and engage claims staff across the team to improve the claims experience and build their negotiation capabilities

The purpose of this role is to provide a high level of technical expertise and strategic insight to assist in the development of appropriate strategies to enable the department to meet business objectives during the Compulsory Conference. The role will work in partnership with the Claims Team to develop, co-ordinate and deliver performance coaching driving continuous improvement in timing and outcomes of resolving claims supporting the achievement of business goals and create value for our customers.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Actively identifying resolution opportunities in partnership with the Claims Advisors, Technical Advisors and Team Leaders
- Develop and implement effective strategies for resolution, considering legal, procedural and interpersonal dynamics to maximise the chances of successful settlements.
- Driving resolution of claims to a timely and cost effective outcome
- Developing and deploying effective claims resolution strategies
- Provide technical expertise and support to the claims team to assist with strategic claims management decision making
- Provide technical expertise and/or mentoring to support to the claims team to ensure appropriate resolution standards are achieved.
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years technical claims experience
- Ability to develop solutions and courses of action by using an information base to identify key issues, compare with other data and determine cause-effect relationships
- Financial knowledge sufficient to interpret and analyse reports relevant to area of responsibility
- Ability to make commercial decisions in line with delegated authority and in a timely manner
- Negotiation skills - ability to explore opportunities with a view to mutual benefit and acceptance.
