THE OPPORTUNITY
The position of Resource Recovery Performance Coordinator presents a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to the efficient management of resources and waste. Reporting directly to the Manager Resource Recovery and Efficiency, the role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with both statutory regulations and internal guidelines. A key focus lies in the comprehensive collection, maintenance, and reporting of waste data, particularly within the context of the Solid Waste function.
The responsibilities of this role extend to the meticulous updating of Management Plans, along with associated Safety and Response procedures and documents. A proactive involvement in the development and upkeep of strategic documentation, policy and procedure manuals, and budget preparation is integral. This includes actively engaging in the preparation of grant applications and overseeing budget and milestone reporting, ensuring a streamlined completion process for grants.
DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and maintain relevant systems that will enable the capture and reporting on all waste handled through Council and contractor collection vehicles, transfer stations and landfills that will facilitate all reporting requirements
  • Compile audit and annual return documents for statutory reporting
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the weighbridge and landfill data collection software and customise these as required to produce relevant data reports, resolve input issues and to train the operators of these systems
  • Develop knowledge of the garbage collection vehicle on-board systems to interpret information and train the drivers
  • Collate and manage data provided by Council’s Waste contractors and report on this information
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for someone with a distinctive mix of skills and experiences that resonate with the dynamic requirements of this position. With a background in data and reporting, you demonstrate an excellent understanding of the complexities involved in collecting, maintaining and reporting waste data to meet both statutory and internal requirements. Your precise attention to detail is evident in your proficiency to revise Management Plans and refine associated Safety and Response procedures and documents.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE
  • Certificate IV in Business Administration or related discipline
  • Demonstrated understanding of data capture and reporting techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to participate as a member of a small team with positive interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Self-motivation to work and achieve results with limited day to day supervision
  • Experience in project management, grant writing, policy and procedure development, or statutory reporting with the ability to organise and manage conflicting work priorities
  • Well-developed report writing and communication skills and computer application skills at an advance level
