Job description

AVCRO PTY LTD is seeking a Storeperson based in Melbourne, VIC. 

38 hours per week, on a 4 days on / 4 days off roster at Melbourne Jet Base.

The ideal candidate will be expected to; 

  • Adhere to AVCRO’S Procedures, among which the relevant parts of our Exposition, applicable work instructions
  • Determine priority items to ensure timely handling of incoming and outgoing parts.
  • Receive and visually inspect all incoming and outgoing materials for physical damage and appropriate documentation
  • Inspect and identify received tools and equipment and enter tooling in the AVCRO software
  • Ensure rejected tools and parts (among which are suspected unapproved parts) are quarantined and labelled.
  • Accept aircraft components and materials in accordance with AVCRO material handling processes
  • Ensure that all material certificates are properly filed, materials are properly stored, and materials are kept traceable
  • Issue approved parts, materials, and special tooling to the engineering department that is accompanied by the appropriate documentation
  • Ensure that outgoing materials are placed on the correct customer account
  • Maintain accurate inventory using AVCRO IT systems 
  • Ensure that material is removed from the store before expiration
  • Preparation of picked items prior to aircraft input and the issuance to the Project Responsible/Certifying Staff upon arrival
  • Monitor Calibrated tooling to ensure all issued tooling is within its calibration period
  • Removal of Calibrated Tooling from its location in advance of its calibration date
  • Lifting of heavy items up to and over 25kg.
  • Monitor inventory levels of consumables
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices in stores
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate you will have;

  • Experience in receipt inspection/dispatch 
  • Previous experience in material/parts environment
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Forklift qualified

Desirable

  • Experience in an airline maintenance setting 

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

The successful candidate for the Storeperson position must meet specific requirements to ensure a safe and secure work environment. 

  • This includes the ability to pass an initial Drug and Alcohol Management Plan (DAMP) test and maintain compliance with ongoing physical DAMP screening. 
  • Adherence to the DAMP policy, which mandates a negative reading for both drugs and alcohol at all times while on shift.
  • In addition, the candidate must be eligible to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC), which includes a Police Check, to ensure their suitability for working in a secure aviation setting. 
  • A complete medical assessment and clearance will also be required to ensure the candidate's physical fitness for the role.
