Our Eco Garden and Home Store is looking for an experienced Casual Retail and Online Store Assistant who is customer-focused, has fantastic attention to detail and is passionate about all things Permaculture and sustainable living.

About the Role
The Retail & Online Store Assistant role is primarily to work at our Vic Park Eco and Garden store to assist customers with product information and various queries, sales, receive and replenish store stock, maintain store aesthetics, pack online orders, and maintain products on the inventory and Online Store systems.
The ideal candidate is vibrant with a passion for improving how we impact the Earth in urban environments. They have a sound knowledge of methods (which are in use at home) to live a greener lifestyle. They have growing food, soil improvement and composting know-how and a Permaculture Design Certificate, or be working towards one. If you also enjoy talking with people, have retail experience, happy to assist at events and have competent computer skills, you will be a key member and perfect for our small team.
In return, you will expand your skills in the many and varied aspects of running a small business and managing various software systems. You will also increase your knowledge on sustainability, the latest eco-friendly products and urban food growing design, giving you invaluable experience in an industry that is taking off, as well as expand your networks of similarly minded people, including your colleagues and customers.
Key Selection Criteria
- Understanding of Permaculture Principles and Ethics via a Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC) or similar qualifications in Horticulture or Landscape Design. Applicants currently working towards their PDC will also be considered.
- Strong PC skills including proficient use of MS Office suite and ability to learn new systems
- Proven retail experience and experience using Point of Sale (POS) systems
- Able to work weekends as required

- Experience with e-commerce website
- Inventory Systems experience
- Retail Business Skills
- Ability to present at workshops including for local councils, businesses and schools, or industry events such as Garden Festivals
- Experience with social media platforms
