We are seeking an enthusiastic, energetic Bookseller interested in all things books to join our upcoming new store in Top Ryde. This is a brand-new Harry Hartog store where you can bring your passion and experience to progress your career in retail.
The Booksellers role contributes to the effective running of the bookstore, through attentive customer service and product knowledge.
To succeed in this role you will be motivated and passionate about providing a memorable service experience for every customer at our bookstore.
The successful applicant should be available to start from May 2024.
Booksellers are required to work a flexible roster including weekdays and weekends. (Due to weekday operating hours, High School students will not be considered).

Duties
- Maintain a high level of customer service
- Assist with customer enquiries
- Recommend and sell book and gift items enthusiastically
- Process customer orders and book reservations
- Handling payments by cash, credit card and using gift vouchers
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current titles
- Maintain instore merchandising and displays
- Participate in book events, including author talks and book signings
- Process stock deliveries and returns
Selection Criteria
- Exceptional retail sales and customer service experience
- Passion for books and reading
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- High level of organisational skills and attention to detail
- Experience with stock processing, including receiving, returns and ensuring accurate stock on hand
- Experience with retail software and EFTPOS
