We're seeking to add to our team a permanent casual Retail Store Assistant – hours available can range from 20-30 hours per week - whichever suits the right applicant but ideally applicant needs to be flexible with increased hours over our peak seasons and to cover staff annual leave.
The Role: The successful applicant would ideally have a background in the retail industry or a love for customer service and willingness to learn. A passion for Camping, Fishing and the outdoors is a must. Duties for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Give exceptional customer service - you need to be a people person
- Answering & assisting with product inquiries
- Maintain broad and in-depth knowledge of products in our camping, fishing, hunting and pool shop departments - this is a must
- Taking and processing sales orders
- Receiving stock, replenishing, merchandising and stock control
- General office administrative duties and helping with marketing
- Options to take on more roles and advance to a senior position
Key Skills and Attributes: The successful applicant will have the following:
- Previous retail experience or the enthusiasm and drive to learn
- Competent computer skills a must in Word, Excel, Email and Internet, training will be given to use our POS system
- Weekend availability a must (every 2nd Saturday morning shift) and flexibility to take on more shifts during peak sales and when other staff are on annual leave
- Strong organizational and time management skills, MUST have a neat and tidy work ethic
- Ability to use own initiative and encouraged to be creative with merchandising
- Ability to work unsupervised, multi task & work under pressure
- Must be honest, reliable, energetic and have happy and positive outlook on life
- Willing to absorb and learn everything about our product range to give our customers the best product knowledge. Our product range is huge and technical - so you must be able to take on and retain product knowledge
Remuneration is in line with the ARL (QLD) Enterprise Agreement and staff have the advantage of our exclusive staff discounts on products across the entire range allowing you to work and play! Hours of work are on a roster from Monday to Friday, and alternating Saturday and a 3 day weekend off on the alternate weekend.
