After 40 years in the business and many requests, we start supplying our award-winning export quality Beef Produce directly to the public at unbeatable wholesales prices at our Big Buchter store located at Osborne Park.

We are currently seeking a Retail Shop Leading Hand on one-year fixed term contract to cover maternity relief.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Meat Retail Sales Leading Hand, you will play a pivotal role in our shop's success by overseeing and leading the meat department. You will be responsible for supervising and guiding the sales assistants, ensuring the efficient operation of the store, and maintaining the highest standards of customer service and product quality. 

Working from Monday to Saturday, this position is responsible for the following duties which include but are not limited to:

• Ability to achieve and maximise sales and provide outstanding customer services and the positive promotion of the company.
• Implement merchandising strategies to promote sales and highlight special offers.
• Supervise and train shop assistants. 
• Ensure the proper handling, cutting, and packaging of meat products.
• Maintain a clean and organised store, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Perform regular quality checks on meat products to maintain high standards.
• Monitor and manage meat inventory levels, working closely with production team to meet customer demand.
• Assist customers with their meat selections and provide expert knowledge and recommendations.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints promptly and professionally.
• Collaborate with management to develop and implement store’s policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Lead by example and maintain a positive and motivating work environment.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a meat Retail Shop, including supervisory or leadership roles, is required.
• Strong knowledge of different meat cuts, preparation methods, and food safety practices
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills
• Strong leadership and team-building skills
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining product quality.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy meat products.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
