About the Opportunity
RACV Travel and Experiences is expanding, and we are excited to be opening a Retail Travel store in the Geelong city centre from August. We are seeking experienced and talented Retail Travel Sales Consultants to join our team of experts, who will provide exceptional customer service to our members and customers.
The Geelong retail store will trade 6 days week, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm & Saturday 9am-2pm. Our team work full-time 5 days week, with the requirement to attend occasional out of office industry events. Induction training will be held in our Melbourne CBD store for 2-3 weeks, prior to the Geelong store opening.

As a Travel Sales Consultant, you will utilise your exceptional customer service skills and share your knowledge, expertise and passion for travel. You will be responsible for managing the customer travel experience from beginning to end, promoting travel products, converting sales to meet targets, creating long lasting relationships that foster repeat business for return travellers and achieving a high level of member and customer satisfaction. Your key responsibilities for the role include:
Promote holiday packages, flights, hotels, cruises, tours, experiences & insurance
Assist customers with face to face in store & online service, managing new enquiries, quotes, itineraries, amendments and cancellations
Facilitate domestic & international travel bookings and payments between travellers & suppliers, using Amadeus GDS
Convert enquiries into confirmed bookings, cross selling & up selling of travel products
Manage travel credits, refunds and changes
Attend sales meetings and achieve targets & KPIs
Attend industry events ie. supplier & product events, ship inspections & travel expos
What you’ll need to be successful
2+ years experience in the Retail Travel agency environment, essential
Certificate 3 in Travel or higher, preferred
Amadeus, Sabre or Galileo GDS experience
Passion for travel industry and personal travel experience
Excellent customer service & communication skills
Outstanding organisational, attention to detail & problem solving skills
Ability to manage workflow, set goals, meet sales targets & work productively
Requirement to attend induction training Monday-Friday for 2-3 weeks in Melbourne CBD office. Your travel costs will be covered by RACV.
