Role involves structural steel and metalwork installation on domestic, commercial and industrial building sites across Greater Bendigo and Central Victoria.
Usually servicing areas within 150km's of Bendigo.
Typical work includes schools, prisons, hospitals, food processing facilities, warehouses, domestic buildings, greenfield sites, refurbs, extensions, maintenance and repairs.
Fortnightly RDO in line with CFMEU roster.
Noting our industrial agreement is NOT the CFMEU EBA.
Plenty of overtime available but not demanded other than travel time outside of 8 hrs minimum on site.
ALL OVERTIME PAID AT OVERTIME RATES. NO FLAT RATES.
Overtime starts after 7.6 hrs each day.
Minimum 8 hr day/40 hour week on site exclusive of travel expected.
TRAVEL PAID BOTH WAYS, starting and ending at Epsom factory each day.
TRAVEL IN OVERTIME PAID AT TIME AND A HALF.
Travel can be 1.5+ hrs each way each day.
Generally there is a mix of local and out of town work.
Occasional working away on a voluntary basis with generous LAHA paid. LAHA IS $250 PER DAY, $1,000 PER WEEK, (4 NIGHTS AWAY).
You can choose your own accommodation instead of the boss making you sleep in a swag in rental house or worse.
Work vehicles and tools supplied.
Basic hand tools/rigging tools/welding helmet required to be supplied by you.
No tool allowance paid.
You break or wear out one of your tools, give it to me and I will replace it.
Lost tools and welding helmets not covered.
$4 per hour site allowance on all site work. Paid on every site, irrespective of build value. Paid on site hours only. Not paid on travel time.
Leading hand roles receive an additional $5 per hour allowance on all site work. Paid on site hours only. Not paid on travel time.
Daily $2.50 phone allowance for leading hand roles.
Must be able to weld and pass a weld test. You don't have to be a qualified boilermaker.
Must have a full Victorian manual drivers licence.
Must have construction induction.
Must have a functioning mobile phone.
Must have high risk EWP, boom over 11m.
Must have scissor lift, yellow card, competency.
Must have working at heights competency.
Must have high risk Rigger basic or preferably Rigger Intermediate.
MR or HR truck licence would be an advantage.
Must have working with Children check.
Must be able to pass a police check.
Up to 12 week casual trial period with full time hours. Full time will be offered sooner to suitable applicants.
Hourly rate negotiable dependent on experience and qualifications.
Indicative starting casual rate would be $40 p/hr. Negotiable +/- on experience and qualifications.
Indicative starting full time rate would be $35 p/hr. Negotiable +/- depending on experience and qualifications.
Plus super at 11% on ordinary time earnings.
Average hourly rate can easily exceed $40 p/hr with overtime and allowances. Based on assumed averages. Dependant on hours and overtime actually worked.
E.g. Job is based 1 hr from factory, 40hr week on site, 10 hrs travel time, 40 hrs site allowance equals gross pay of $2,120, based on $35 base rate. That makes the average rate $42.40 per hour. $47.40 per hour for leading hand.
