This is a newly created role that reports to the Head of Operations and will work closely with the General Manager and Certsy leadership team. Success for this role is as much about fostering dedication, as it is about compliance. We see security and privacy by design as central to our product and value proposition and are therefore strive to build a highly engaged and accountable organisation where it's everyone's job to pro-actively think about risk, security, and privacy issues.

As we grow in scale, scope & complexity, we recognize it's time for Certsy to level up its capabilities for governance, accreditation, compliance & risk management while retaining the best of our innovative and agile strengths.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Certsy leadership team on a comprehensive risk, governance and Accreditation strategy
  • Drive efforts to ensure focused yet pragmatic documentation and operationalization of all risk controls in Certsy, and provide ongoing monitoring and assurance on their effectiveness to Certsy and SEEK stakeholders
  • Lead and oversee efforts to obtain and maintain key accreditations. This currently includes the National Police Checking Service (NPCS) and in future will likely also include ISO 27001 and Digital Identity / TDIF
  • Foster rapid yet risk-aware innovation in Certsy by embedding solid disciplines for ongoing risk assessment by our cross-functional squads and other teams as they evolve their products, systems, operations, and practices
  • Champion a proactive culture of risk, security, and privacy awareness among all functions in Certsy, fostering the right mindset, providing useful training & education, and ensuring deep integration into our ways of working
  • Lead key projects for risk, security, privacy & accreditation, and identify opportunities for further improvement
  • Ensure Certsy adheres to all relevant local, national, and international regulatory standards through periodic reviews, monitoring of regulatory changes, policy updates, and appropriate product & system changes.
  • Coordinate annual reviews of overall risk controls, security penetration tests, fraud prevention, resilience, etc
  • Manage customer and partner audit programs where required (e.g. NPCS legal entity customers)
  • Draw upon relevant expertise across SEEK, including risk, legal, privacy, data services, and security teams

Qualifications

  • Relevant prior experience in compliance, risk, security, privacy, and/or accreditation
  • Track record of managing change programs or large projects through to successful completion
  • Strategic and well-structured thinking, with a pragmatic willingness to zoom in and help get stuff done
  • Collaborative and mature style, able to engage productively to earn commitment not just compliance
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and initiatives, identify trade-offs, and communicate issues pro-actively
  • High level of comfort with ambiguity, can break down complex issues into manageable chunks and prioritise
  • Clear and succinct communication, both written & spoken, with ability to influence at all levels of an organisation
  • Experience in a start-up / scale-up environment, experience leading ISO-27001 accreditation, and/or experience working in or dealing with regulatory issues in countries across Asia-Pacific is advantageous
