As a crucial team member, you will play a key role in delivering OCMS Signalling Escrow projects, ensuring uninterrupted train services within the MR4 OCMS Train Control and Signalling Renewals work bank.The role involves leading Engineering Assurance activities, implementing risk-based decision-making processes for infrastructure maintenance, renewal works, and various projects. We are seeking a skilled System Safety Assurance SME to develop and review systems assurance requirements, ensuring compliance with contracts, safety regulations, and Metro's Safety Management System (SMS). This is a maximum term role for 24 months.Key ResponsibilitiesAssurance:
- Coordinate and support the review of technical systems Safety Assurance outputs for OCMS Signalling Escrow Program, Change Control Board, Risk Acceptance Working Group, and Management of Change submissions.
- Develop, implement, and manage the Risk and Safety Assurance program for the OCMS Signalling Escrow Program.
- Produce safety documentation aligned with Metro's system Safety Assurance requirements.
- Ensure compliance with safety requirements and legislative standards. Risk:
- Development, implement and manage the Risk and Safety Assurance program
- Conduct safety analyses and develop project Risk and Safety Plans.
- Manage risk registers covering various facets.
- Deliver the Engineering and Operational Safety Cases.
- Ensuring escalation of all relevant technical engineering issues.
- Liaise with peers, stakeholders and regulators
- Proactively ensure staff awareness of risk
- Conduct Hazard Identification and Analyses.
- Tertiary qualification in Systems or Safety Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical capacity within a rail environment.
- Experience in either design, construction and/or maintenance phases.
- Experience of interpreting complex technical diagrams, specifications and plans across a range of technical disciplines
- Experience working in a design assurance environment is desirable.
