Our client is a leader in the offshore energy market seeking a Risk and Safety Engineer to help safeguard operations in their Perth-based office.
This role will contribute to their systems and procedures by identifying and mitigating potential risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and assist in the safe operation of the vessel fleet.
Role responsibilities:
- Lead the writing, review, revision and development of safety cases in accordance with relevant legislative requirements.
- Manage consultants as necessary to assist in the development of safety cases
- Conduct and coordinate Formal Safety Assessments (FSAs) studies, including Hazard Identification studies (HAZID), qualitative risk assessments, and Safety management studies.
- Prepare, coordinate and conduct technical compliance audits in accordance with the audit framework, safety cases and legislative requirements.
- Give input into the review and revision of Safety Management System documentation.
- Liaise with relevant regulatory bodies and other stakeholders
- Identify engineering controls and improvements following incidents, hazard reports and risk assessments in relation to safety case activities.
- Facilitate safety risk assessment studies
- Compile reports summarising the overall ALARP demonstration
- Contribute to the development of standards, procedures / processes, guidelines and training materials for the effective implementation of the Safety cases.
- A Bachelor/Master's degree in WH&S, risk, process engineering, process safety management, or related.
- Minimum 10 years experience as a Risk and Safety Engineer or similar.
- CPEng (Optional but recommended)
- Proven experience in the development of safety cases for a range of facilities/industries (e.g. vessels, offshore/onshore facilities, subsea infrastructure, pipelines, diving, construction/installation).
- Ability to rapidly learn and understand new software programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
