Would you like to make a real difference in the community and contribute to the ongoing protection of vulnerable people? Access Canberra is looking for highly motivated, evidence-based decision makers to fill a Risk Assessment Officer role with the Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) team.

The WWVP Risk Assessment and Investigations teams are responsible for analysing multiple sources of information to identify a persons overall level of risk to vulnerable people in the ACT. Risk Assessment Officers are required to ensure appropriate, proportionate recommendations for action from a risk-based approach, are supplied ensuring the safety of vulnerable people is of paramount consideration.

Eligibility/Other requirements:

The role carries a high potential for encountering offensive or traumatic material. By applying for this position, you acknowledge the nature of the material you may be exposed to and indicate your willingness to utilise employer provided support services to manage your mental health on an ongoing basis.

The successful applicant must hold a positive unrestricted registration issued under the Working With Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 or be eligible to gain registration upon commencement. Notes: This is a temporary position available for two months with the Possibility of extension and/or permanency. The selection process may be based on application and referee reports only. A merit pool will be established from this process and may be used to fill similar vacancies over the next 12 months.
