Position Overview: We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Cardiothoracic Scrub Nurse to join our dynamic team. As a vital member of our perioperative team, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care to patients undergoing cardiothoracic procedures. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment alongside renowned surgeons and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain sterile fields in the operating room for cardiothoracic procedures.
• Assist surgeons during surgical procedures, anticipating their needs and providing necessary instruments and supplies.
• Monitor patient vital signs and assist with anesthesia administration as required.
• Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and maintain a safe surgical environment.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and provide comprehensive care.

Requirements:

• Registered Nurse qualification with current AHPRA registration.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Scrub Nurse, preferably in cardiothoracic surgery or Cath Lab.
• Demonstrated proficiency in scrubbing for a variety of cardiothoracic procedures, including but not limited to CABG, valve replacement, and thoracotomy.
• Strong understanding of perioperative nursing principles and practices.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
