Our client is one of Australia's high quality, leading National Aged Care Providers with various facilities across the whole of Perth where they provide Low, High and Dementia specific care as well as Extra Services. The Opportunity:
We now are seeking a Registered Nurses with some aged care experience who is passionate about providing high quality care to residents - this facility has around 33 beds with great staff to patient ratios. This is a beautiful facility with a regular team on shift who offer great training and development to further your career.
Must be able to commit to Permanent Part Time working 3-4 shifts every week - here are the current shifts which you may choose from:
- Night Shifts - Sunday and Monday
- PM Shifts - Sunday, Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday
- AM Shift - Saturday
Responsibilities include:
- Looking after 33 residents on a daily basis
- Provide high quality, safe and effective nursing care that aligns with individual resident preferences and best practice
- Updating and following care plans - ensure all care documentation is completed with appropriate strategies implemented
- Ensure aged care standards are met and adhered too
- Coach, mentor and supervise all junior staff & carers on shift
- Undertake clinical, social and self-care assessments if necessary
- SIRS - management and reporting
- Wound care
- Pain management
- Settling and supporting residents with dementia
- Anticipate residents' changing health needs and initiate further assessments or referrals if deterioration is identified - escalate concerns
- Support residents by addressing queries, comments, suggestions, or concerns
- Support, coach, monitor and mentor the care workers and EN on shift
Skills and experience required:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly focused on person centred care practice
- Nursing qualification and current professional AHPRA registration
- Understanding of Aged Care Quality Standards
- NDIS clearance
- Current influenza and COVID vaccinations notifications (or approved exemptions)
