The City of Launceston, an award winning Employer of Choice, is currently seeking to fill the following position:
Position Title: Road Asset Engineer
Position Number: POS0854
This permanent, full-time position will take on a key role in the planning and ongoing asset management of City of Launceston's Road Assets; including pavements, kerb and channel, footpaths, traffic furniture, street lighting, bridges and retaining walls in the road reservation.
This role has an excellent balance of office and field work. We are looking for someone with high levels of motivation and a willingness to learn in a team environment. We are happy to work with the right person to provide the necessary training and ongoing support.
We are looking for someone who demonstrates, through behaviour, an alignment and an understanding of our values and has the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Relevant experience in asset management and civil engineering fields.
- Commitment to high quality customer service, with demonstrated communication/negotiation skills to explain and discuss issues with customers.
- High level of oral and written communication skills, including preparing reports for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously and effectively in a team, facilitating information transfer, and coordinating with other team members.
- Sound judgement, decision making and risk analysis skills.
- Current Drivers Licence
- Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent, or demonstrated high level of competency in the technical background of managing Road Assets.*
*PLEASE NOTE: Remuneration commensurate with qualifications and industry experience. Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent qualification with strong industry experience preferred (Award Classification Grade 6), however demonstrated industry experience/developing engineer will be considered for suitable candidates (Award Classification Grade 5).
