We are a Structural/Mechanical and Crane Hire business providing a full range of steel fabrication, procurement, project construction/maintenance solutions and crane hire to clients.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Gadaleta Steel Fabrications Port Pirie are looking for a Heavy Combination (HC) & Multi-Combination (MC) Truck Driver/Operator to safely and efficiently operate and drive the GSF Road Train. The role may be Full time or Casual, if preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete all necessary associated documentation (such as the preparation and signing of cart note dockets and service requests)
- Efficient operation of the site’s vehicles
- Follow appropriate company procedures
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of deficiencies in the delivery of goods
- Take proper care of vehicles under your care
- Ensure compliance with fatigue management
- Ensure compliance with loading requirements, axle weights, adhering to vehicle specific permits
- Ensure compliance to NHVR management system
- Work on mine sites as per client requirements
KEY COMPETENCIES/SKILLS
- Good time management
- Good driving and loading skills for structural steel
- Good skills in operating other equipment as required
- Sound communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Customer focused and responsive to customer requirements
- Performance and task driven to meet client requirements.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Heavy Combination (HC) or Multi-Combination (MC) Driver’s license
- Experience in driving heavy bulk vehicles and other machinery.
- Knowledge and understanding of applicable Commonwealth/State Safety and Environmental legislation and standards, Main Road Heavy vehicle legislation and permitting standards
- Working in a crane environment is an advantage but not essential
- Ability to work autonomously using proactive approach to task resolution
- Ability to work well within a team environment
- Pass a NHVR medical and complete drug and alcohol test
- Potential to gain a crane licence for the right candidate
- High risk licence, Fork lift licence (is an advantage but not essential)
