Multiple Fixed Term Full-time until 30th June 2025 position opportunities, based in the Far North Coast District in the below locations:
- Ballina
- Tweed Heads
- Woodburn
- South Grafton
In this role, your duties will include:
- Perform maintenance and manual labouring tasks using plant and equipment and powered and non-powered hand tools
- Undertake road maintenance activities including, but not limited to, widening & barrier installs, enhanced road pavements, overtaking lanes and heavy patching works.
- Work collaboratively with the team including Team Leaders and Works Supervisors to manage the day-to-day operations and tasks as well as resolve issues that may arise
- Travel extensively throughout the region to attend worksites including attending call outs where required
- Keep up to date with WHS legislation and policies and procedures as it relates to minimising risk and keeping to safe work standards
There may be an opportunity for the creation of a talent pool from this process.
About you:
You are a team-oriented worker who has an eye for detail and is used to working in similar environments.
You are a practical thinker, quick learner and great communicator who enjoys being physically active performing outdoor manual tasks involving the use of hand tools and equipment within a team setting.
You must hold the following tickets / Licences.
- White Card
- Current driver’s licence
Traffic Control tickets and Truck Licence (Medium Rigid) up to (Heavy Rigid) are preferred but not essential.
You must have previous experience as a Road Worker Grade 1- 3 level or related civil construction labouring experience.

You will live within a 100 km radius from your chosen locations’ depot and are prepared to work outside normal working hours, attend callouts, travel across the district and work away from home when needed.
