Roadhouse Coordinator

To fill our newly created position of Roadhouse Coordinator we are seeking a person who takes pride in being organised and thorough whilst working in a team environment. Bring your relaxed and positive attitude with competent Microsoft and effective communication skills, a passion for small towns in the Pilbara and a genuine interest in people and strengthening community. We're looking for someone with an honest and positive manner who will work with the owners to understand and grow the coordinator position which currently entails accommodation bookings, staff rostering, stock ordering, account management and lots of positive interactions, with both customers and colleagues. It’s not a standard 9-5 office job, it’s 6 days a week hands on approach, consisting of office work, interacting with the community, covering front counter breaks and shifts at times with various tasks around the business, including management coverage. A 12-month commitment will give you free accommodation, meals and a great place to save money. 

Previous experience in multi-faceted retail/hospitality environments, with skills in a 12hr/7days a week business is highly regarded. 

General Duties/Attributes

• Communicate with respect, empathy and professionalism
• Oversee 25 room motel – bookings/customer liaison/cleaning /maintenance issues
• Rostering, ordering, stock control and accounts
• Competent Microsoft office skills
• Email and electronic communication skills
• Front of house shift and break coverage
• Maintain a cooperative, inclusive and open team environment
• Understand and maintain current processes
• Be able to make well-informed decisions on the fly
• An ability to simplify and standardise systems
• Be a strong link that ensures consistency of house policies/processes across shifts
• Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements
• Escalate issues to management as necessary

Skills and experience

• Minimum of 3yrs experience in an office environment
• Minimum of 2yrs experience in a retail/hospitality environment
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Proactive and diplomatic email etiquette
• Australian Drivers Licence
• Comfortable to live and work in a semi-remote destination
• Relaxed attitude and a sharp mind
• Bonus points for forklift licence combined with competent operational skills
