About the Opportunity 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and energetic Rooms Division Manager to join our Executive Leadership Team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the efficient operations of Front Office, Reservations, Concierge, Housekeeping, Public Area Cleaning & One Spa. 

Royal Pines is one of Australia’s leading conference and events resorts offering 5 star accommodation with 333 premium guest rooms and suites, 8 restaurants & bars, an executive lounge, a luxurious day spa, gym and a 27 hole championship golf course.

Reporting to the Resort General Manager, you will be accountable for ensuring the department objectives and company goals are achieved, whilst delivering a 5 star guest experience. To succeed in this role, your key responsibilities include: 

  • Provide exceptional leadership, direction and management for the Rooms Division, Housekeeping & One Spa, overseeing a large team and the daily resort operations 

  • Lead a high performing customer focused team who are committed to creating moments that matter for our guests  

  • Drive staff engagement and training initiatives to increase productivity and retention, ensuring we maintain a great workplace culture  

  • Innovate, lead change and drive accountability across your departments as we continue to enhance our guest experience 

  • Analyse data, respond to guest feedback and implement continuous improvement strategies to deliver results 

  • Maximise revenue through rooms and spa, manage budgets, expenses, forecasting and reporting 

  • Contribute towards the delivery of sustainability practices, property projects, initiatives and strategic business planning 

  • Build & maintain effective relationships with internal & external stakeholders 

  • Identify, report and control hazards to manage a safe environment for staff and guests 

  • Participate in the weekend Executive Manager on Duty program 

Full availability and flexibility are required in this role, to work a 7 day rotating roster including evenings, weekends & public holidays.  

What you’ll need to be successful 

  • Proven leadership and operational experience as a Rooms Division Manager in a 5 star resort environment, essential 

  • Tertiary qualification in hotel, tourism & hospitality management or related discipline, desirable 

  • Experience in staff management practices including recruitment, reward & recognition, performance management and counselling 

  • Solid understanding of financial reporting, revenue growth & profitable operations 

  • Experience in delivering results and passionate about delivering exceptional customer service 

  • Strong decision making, effective listening, verbal & written communication skills 

  • Competent computer skills in MS Office applications, Opera & Micros 

  • Work well in a team, under pressure and in a fast paced environment 

  • Strong time management, attention to detail and problem solving skills 

  • Excellent personal presentation
