WHO WE ARE

Care Connector delivers high-quality community nursing and attendant care services through its two divisions; Holistic Nursing Solutions (HNS) and Holistic Care Solutions (HCS). Our teams work with clients located across the country with our primary locations Brisbane, Gold Coast, Northern NSW, Sydney and Tamworth.

The HNS and HCS teams work either together or independently, depending on client needs, to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.  

POSITION PURPOSE

The rostering coordinator plays a critical role, ensuring that our nurses and support workers are rostered according to the expectations of our clients. The Rostering Coordinator works their magic to ensure that this schedule is achieved and our commitment to our clients is always upheld. They must administer staff rosters to enable an effective balance between optimising staff efficiency and maximising staff and client satisfaction.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS

  • Prepare regular rosters and shift schedules using the staff rostering platform
  • Publish support work shifts and nursing appointments at least four weeks in advance
  • Ensure all shifts have been accepted by staff at least one week in advance
  • Identify urgent shift cover, for unexpected staff absences and leave, and communicate any staff changes in a timely and appropriate manner to clients and other stakeholders
  • Develop contingency plans for unexpected staff shortages due to illness, emergencies, or other unforeseen circumstances
  • Communicate roster changes to clients and their care team as required
  • Prepare roster for clients requiring these and communicate these to clients in a timely manner
  • Schedule staff according to client-match, availability and training.
  • Ensure client rosters and support needs (schedule of care hours) are met
  • Master the roster system and identify improvements 
  • Develop and update shift requirement descriptions
  • Build effective working relationships with clients, staff and other key stakeholders
  • Effectively communicate with and build a strong rapport with CCH Coordinators and Managers
  • Provide regular updates to management and care coordinators on relevant challenges and provide recommended solutions
  • Rotate the after hours roster for on-call shifts to ensure consistent client care.
  • Accurate, efficient and consistent data entry
  • Implement strategies to improve client retention and loyalty, such as conducting satisfaction surveys and implementing feedback mechanisms
  • Delivery of other tasks as required or directed e.g. administration and support as requested by management

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Experience in rostering and scheduling - essential
  • Experience within the Health or Disability Care sector advantageous
  • Ability to work as a team player and independently
  • Strong verbal, numerical and written communication skills 
  • Excellent organisation skills and ability to multi-task under pressure
  • Ability to show initiative and be proactive
  • Value driven – integrity, innovation, and well-being
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills 
  • Current Police Check or willing to obtain
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check or willing to obtain
