Your position as Route Manager Domestic & Freighter Network will see you responsible for managing both domestic Freighter Networks & QF/JQ passenger flight networks including capacity and yield. Two Freighter Networks (APG & GFN) including 18 freighter aircraft operating 60 flights per night. Located within the Qantas Freight Network and Margin team, this position also has responsibility for medium term scheduling, collaborating with multimillion dollar customers and managing Aircraft operators to contract & service level agreements.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Freighter aircraft including A330F, A321F, B737F, BAe146F & ATR 72F across both Qantas group & five external aircraft providers
Managing both APG & GFN Freighter Networks, collaborating closely with QFE senior sales teams as well as major customers including APG, FedEx, TGE & DHL
Including the medium-term development/management of Freighter schedule & operations with regards to scheduling & revenue & management functions
Network slot maintenance and publishing of seasonal schedules for Domestic operations
Manage and publish the domestic Freighter Schedule to ensure customer, financial and commercial requirements are met.
Formalizing schedule recovery solutions into freighter schedule build
Lead relationship with contracted aircraft operators and external suppliers such as EFA, NJE, Airwork, ASL &Toll to ensure all contractual conditions are met
Set strategy for revenue and margin maximisation on allocated routes. Develop insights into revenue and flight yield performance.
Identifying opportunities to increase network revenue using revenue maximising strategies. Liaising with sales teams to ensure that yield is maximised on high demand routes
Partner with account managers to recommend optimal customer and network allocations & outcomes
Reporting on network financial performance and market activity on allocated routes
Driving performance of customer allotments and managing free sale capacity to maximise revenue - Work with FPO, JQ, IOC and Load control to achieve favourable outcomes for passenger flight Block space uplift.
Identifying opportunities to use interline capacity to increase utilisation of the belly space & backloading freighter flights network
Driving network and Margin business improvement initiatives.
Instilling a proactive Continuous improvement approach in evaluating processes & procedures

What you’ll bring to the role:
Aviation industry knowledge and experience
The ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders
Proven commercial analytical skills and business accuracy
Highly developed commercial, analytical and influencing skills
Proven capability to provide reports to senior management
Proven ability to manage in a changing environment
Continuous improvement focus and results orientated
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Knowledge and experience iCargo and Power BI an advantage but not essential
Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in Business
The ability to work collaboratively in a team, be highly motivated and goal driven.
